In 2019 I had the pleasure and fortune of working with the great team at Rockstar Game’s Art Department at their NYC studio. While there I had the opportunity to collaborate with the extremely talented designers, illustrators, artists and marketing team there to create animations for a number of different Rockstar properties, events and campaigns. My role on these projects was that of Motion Designer. I would receive approved art files from the art department and bring them to life with motion. I take no credit for any of the beautiful art assets in the animations below: my contribution was the motion.

GTA ONLINE: ARCADE ADS

Probably my favorite project I worked on at Rockstar was this series of ads for the Diamond Casino and Resort in Los Santos. The GTA Online map was getting a casino that included a retro video arcade in an upcoming update. We decided to do two retro-inspired trailers for the awesome minigames the dev team built for players to play there. These were a blast to make and I’m really happy with the result.

RED DEAD ONLINE LEGENDARY BOUNTY ANIMATIONS

One of the final projects I worked on while at Rockstar was the weekly Legendary Bounty posters. I love the way these animations turned out and felt lucky to be able to touch the first three in an ongoing series.

Every week in the Red Dead Online there’s a Legendary Bounty placed on certain individuals. These animations were used on social platforms to advertise the ongoing events and pulled from the wetplate photography-inspired look of the in-game cutscenes.

RED DEAD ONLINE ANIMATED EVENT POSTERS

One of the ongoing projects I worked on while at Rockstar were these (mostly) weekly animated posters that we would make for various event promos happening in the online world at that time. The team at Rockstar had built out this amazing creative, very much inspired by the old Spaghetti Western title sequences a la the great sequence done for The Good The Bad and The Ugly (1966).
